National Debt Line
National Debt Line provides free and confidential independent advice on how to deal with debt problems. They are open from Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 9.00pm, and on Saturday from 9.30am to 1.00pm. If you call the number outside of these times, there is a 24 hour voicemail service.

If you are struggling to manage your finances, help and support is available through Capitalise - an organisation that will provide you with free and independent money advice.
If you want to, you can contact Capitalise through the Council, by visiting the Information Centre in Dagenham or the Barking Learning Centre. We will arrange the appointment for you. Alternatively, you can contact Capitalise yourself with the details provided.
Community Legal Advice Centre
The Community Legal Advice Centre is a service provided by the Citizens Advice Bureau and Edwards Duthie Solicitors. It has been set up and funded by the Council to provide support and advice on a whole range of legal issues. You can ask for help with:
- family issues, like divorce or other problems;
- welfare benefits and how to claim them;
- managing money and dealing with debt; and
- community care.
The Community Legal Advice Centre is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm, and on Wednesdays from 10.00am to 8.00pm. The Centre also opens on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 9.00am to 1.00pm.
This service also provides regular outreach services all over the borough. Check their website to find one near you.
