CAN TREATMENT BE RECEIVED AT HOME? Some specialist services may be available for some people who, for health reasons, find it difficult to travel. These could include: Dentists Most dentists will provide a home visiting service. If you require this service contact your dentist and ask if they can visit you at home. Tel: 020 8591 9595 Opticians Home Visits: If you are housebound and unable to visit an Optician some of the practices in the borough will provide a home visiting service. If you already have an optician ask them if they can provide this service. If they do not, contact Carers of Barking & Dagenham, or the Health Information Shop for details of other opticians. Chiropody Services Chiropody Services are based at The Victoria Centre, Pettits Lane, Romford. All appointments are booked through this central office. You can self refer or a GP or District Nurse can refer you. The appointments tel. no. is 01708 796888 Telephone lines are busier in the mornings and at the beginning of the week. If you have a Chiropody Identification Number please have this ready as this speeds up the booking process. If you are house bound and need a home visit you may be eligible to go on a waiting list, however, if you are able to get a lift to the clinic, have a taxi card or are registered with dial a ride you will not be considered eligible.
