Care City need your help - Preventing Pressure Ulcers

Monday, October 28, 2019 - 09:00

INTRODUCING CARE CITY Care City is a Community Interest Company. It aims to work with local residents and organisations to improve health and wellbeing in Barking and the surrounding area. We do this by bringing together health, social and third sector partners, technology experts including small to medium sized innovation companies and researchers. It is important to us that any solutions or ideas are developed with local people.

ABOUT iCARE Carers have told us they would like learning materials. Working together with NHS clinicians, Care City has developed an education app covering the prevention of pressure ulcers. The app includes a mix of videos, audio, diagrams, animations and information sheets. Each takes 2-3 minutes to watch or read and there are 14 in total.

ABOUT THE PROJECT The aim of this project is to understand the usability of the app and its impact on caring roles. To join this project you will need access to a smart phone and be willing to use the app for a period of at least six weeks.

HELPING OTHER CARERS Taking part in the programme will give you access to the learning materials. Your feedback on the materials will help us to create a better tool for other carers to use. We hope to be able to add new content areas in the future. We want to support carers to increase their knowledge and confidence in their caring roles, and ultimately improve the quality of life and experience of the individuals they care for.

USING THE APP The Care City iCare app is available for download on iPhone and Android. If you sign up for the programme, the team will send you the link to the app and your login details
