Each year Carers Rights Day brings organisations across the UK together to help carers in their local community know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to. We hold Carers Rights Day to:
- Make carers aware of their rights
- Let carers know where to get help and support
- Raise awareness of the needs of carers
Get involved in 2019: Thursday 21st November 2019
Hundreds of organisations across the UK hold an event or activity for Carers Rights Day to help people in their community find out about their rights as a carer, and where to go for support.
This year Carers Rights Day will be held on Thursday 21 November.
Every day 6,000 people become carers but often it’s not something they’ve planned for. They may have to start dealing with health or social care providers, interacting with the benefits system, speaking with their employers, all alongside their new caring responsibilities. But whether you are a new carer or have been caring for someone for a while it's important to understand your rights and make sure that you are able to access the support available to you.
Carers Rights Day 2019 is kindly supported by Nutricia Advanced Medical Nutrition.
One of our Support Workers will be at Barking Learning Centre on the 21st November, please feel free to come in for a chat and to find out your rights as a Carer.
