Thurrock Young Carers were chosen by a group of young people who took part in the NCS programme. The group chose to support Thurrock Young Carers for a 2 day challenge.
On Wednesday 22nd August they went to Morrisons in Grays and handed out leaflets to members of the public and supported the community by asking if they would like help to pack up their shopping. They done a fantastic job at raising awareness and spreading the word about Young Carers as well as rasing £75 from donations.
On Friday 24th August their challenge was to give something back to the project. The group designed a notice board for Thurrock Young Carers. The notice board will be used to take out on networking days and to conferences. In total the group raised £104.87 which will be put towards a respite activity giving the young carers some much needed time out from their caring role.
