We acknowledge that many people may need assistance with travelling around,
both locally and otherwise. There are specialist transport facilities
available and whilst it is not possible for us to give comprehensive details
about membership costs, eligibility criteria and availability listed below
are telephone numbers which you may find useful.
DIAL A RIDE - (you must be registered)
Door to door bus service for people unable to use public transport. Book

Can offer help if you wish to travel into London, providing information
on access - steps and seating arrangements for sights and venues, as well
as further information on transport available and accessible for people

DISABLEMENT ASSOCIATION OF BARKING & DAGENHAM Available from The Disablement
Association. Fully accessible vehicles for short journeys for individuals

Wheelchair accessible buses that connect mainline stations, as well as

CONCESSIONARY FARES FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE
The Freedom Pass is available to women over 60 and men over 65 who are
in permanent residence in Barking & Dagenham Available from the Civic

AMBULANCE BOOKING
If you are unable to attend a hospital appointment due to mobility problems,
your GP may be able to book an ambulance for you to attend on an initial
visit and the bookings are made directly to the hospital by yourself.
