VOLUNTEER SERVICE

WHY VOLUNTEER?

Volunteering can be a very rewarding experience, whether you are looking to get back into work, have time on your hands whilst you are child rearing, do shift work or have retired. It is a way of passing on your skills, offering our carers time to be listened to or supporting our staff at our two very busy offices.

Volunteering is an opportunity to meet others, share interests, learn new skills, participate in training that covers a variety of topics.  You'll feel appreciated and valued for your worthwhile contribution.

Our volunteer team are involved in all kinds of projects, contributing greatly and enhancing the service that we are able to offer our carers.

Volunteer opportunities are always available in the following areas:

Drivers and Escorts:
Always needed to drive our minibus. We provide full MIDAS training for our drivers.

Young Carers:
To support our sessional workers with various activities, including day trips, sports, and arts and crafts.

Outreach:
To support the organisation by promoting our services on open days throughout the year.

Telephone Support:
Offering support to our carers by phoning them regularly.

Therapy:
To provide carers with therapies such as aromatherapy, reflexology, massage etc.

Administration:
To assist with general office administration tasks such as photocopying, helping with mail-outs etc.

We are always looking to recruit volunteers to support the projects and services within the organisation.  If you're interested, contact Sue Bernie on 020 8593 4422
